It is a single-roller sheller on a light frame: one 0.75 kW single-phase motor, 1 tonne per hour of dry cobs, 32.6 kg on the scale, 1010 × 320 × 740 mm on the floor. Cobs go in through a 320 mm feed port under a protection cover; shelled grain leaves from the bottom outlet and the bare cobs from the side, so there is nothing to re-sort afterwards. Two men can lift it into the back of a pickup, and it will run off a domestic socket or a small generator, which is the point.
One roller is not a compromise at this size, it is the reason the grain comes out whole. A single roller presses each cob against the concave once, at moderate speed, instead of hammering it through a high-speed multi-roller bank. The result is a low broken-kernel rate and an intact germ — what you want if the corn is going back as seed or into feed. Feed cobs evenly, never force a handful in to make up time, and shell at 18–20% moisture or drier; damp cobs smear and wrap the roller, and that is where most "the machine breaks the grain" complaints actually start.
The running cost is easy to quote: 0.75 kW for one tonne an hour is roughly 0.75 kWh per tonne of shelled corn. Where there is no power on the plot, the motor comes off and a 6 hp diesel or petrol engine goes on the same frame.
