One hundred Model 400 peanut picking machines rolled out of Zhengzhou Weiwei Machinery's workshop this month, bound for a Sri Lankan buyer servicing the country's fast-expanding groundnut belt. The timing is right: Sri Lanka grows peanuts across its dry and intermediate zones — Moneragala, Kurunegala, Ampara and Puttalam among them — and recent government cultivation drives are putting groundnut seed and training in front of thousands of smallholders. With national output near 37,000 tonnes a year, the harvest bottleneck is clear, and mechanization is the obvious next step.

Picking peanuts by hand — lifting pods off the vine and separating them from stalks and soil — is slow, seasonal and labor-hungry. The Model 400 does it in a single pass. Lifted vines feed in one end; a rotating drum knocks the pods free, a fan blows off leaves and light debris, and a vibrating screen drops clean peanuts out the side. The result is a picking (cleaning) rate of 99% or better, with pod breakage kept to a minimum. At 1–2 mu per hour it covers far more ground in a day than a hand crew, letting growers beat the narrow weather window between digging and curing.

Each Model 400 ships as a complete machine: a 22 HP diesel engine, a tire-mounted base frame and a welded steel iron frame, ready to run in the field with no extra assembly. Operating size is 1300×950×1700 mm and it packs into 1230×1220×1490 mm, about 320 kg (370 kg with the frame).
