The 5T-60 is a full-feed axial-flow thresher, and one drum handles both crops. Whole sheaves go in at the feed table; peg teeth on the rotating drum comb the grain off the heads against a curved concave screen underneath. Grain falls through the screen into the collecting tray and leaves at the grain outlet, while straw and empty heads ride over the drum to the straw outlet at the back. Grain is combed off rather than hammered out, so breakage stays low, the sample arrives clean, and a crop that is still slightly damp is no disaster.
A 3 kW electric motor is the standard drive; the same frame takes a 6 hp diesel or 6 hp petrol engine, so a field without a power line is no problem. The unit weighs 65 kg, stands 1500 x 900 x 1000 mm and rolls on two wheels behind a drawbar - two people walk it along a field bund or through a 0.9 m doorway. Output is 500-700 kg an hour; the smaller 5T-50 shares the layout at 400-450 kg/h and 55 kg. Switching crops is a matter of setting: open the concave and slow the drum for damp rice, close it and speed up for dry wheat. Match the drive pulley to the engine as the manual sets out, and never over-speed the drum.
That covers most of our buyers: five to twenty mu of paddy followed by wheat on the same land, terraced plots in hilly country, and contractors who charge by the mu.
