Double Shaft Shredder 1000: 2 × 22 kW, 7–9 rpm, Takes Whole Palm Trunks and Frond Bales — Weiwei Machinery
Palm clearing is the job that stops a normal crusher. A felled date palm leaves a trunk 4 to 6 m long and 300 to 400 mm across, and fronds on a plantation are usually baled or pushed into heaps before anyone thinks about processing them. Feed that into a high-speed hammer mill and the mill either stalls or throws the trunk back out; feed it into a chipper and the stringy palm fibre wraps the disc.
The 1000 series is a slow-speed, twin-shaft shredder, and that is the whole point of the design. Two shafts turn towards each other at 7 to 9 rpm, each carrying 33 cutter discs, and each disc carries 12 teeth. Because the shafts turn slowly, the force at the tooth is torque rather than impact: the teeth hook the material, pull it down and tear it apart instead of trying to shatter it. Palm fibre, coconut husk, banana trunk, baling twine and mixed green waste all go through the same way.
Power comes from two 22 kW six-pole motors, one per shaft, each driving through its own 48.57:1 reducer. That is 44 kW in total and it is deliberately not a fast machine — it makes a first-stage product, chips and torn fibre in the 100–300 mm range, which is exactly what a hammer crusher downstream wants to receive. Running the shredder first also protects the crusher: screens and hammers last longer when they are not asked to break trunks.
The frame is welded 100 mm square tube and the body is Q235 plate, built in split sections so the machine can be shipped in a container and assembled on site. Overall it measures 3500 × 1400 × 1700 mm. Disc count and tooth count are set at build, because the right number depends on the material: soft green fronds want fewer, wider teeth, while dry palm trunk and coconut log want more teeth and a slower feed. Tell us the material and the finish you need and we set the shaft that way.
Weiwei Machinery has built biomass and farm machinery in Zhengzhou since 1980, holds CE and ISO 9001, and exports to the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and South America. We build shredder-plus-crusher pairs for palm clearing, coconut processing and briquette plants, and we will quote the pair if that is what the job needs.
Send your material, the size you need out and your power supply on WhatsApp and we will reply within 24 hours with the shaft configuration and a delivered price. The full shredding and crushing range is on our homepage.
